Make an appointment to donate April 23 and April 25 at Gardner White furniture stores.
DETROIT (April 17, 2024) – As the American Red Cross prepares to host blood drives at 10 Gardner White furniture stores, donors of all blood types – especially type O donors and those who give platelets – are needed to keep the blood supply strong enough to support critical patient care this spring.
Blood products have a limited shelf life, so donors are encouraged to make and keep their appointment when they give blood at the two-day drive on Tuesday, April 23, and Thursday, April 25. Blood drives will be held from 11 a.m. – 4:45 p.m. at Gardner White furniture stores in Saginaw and throughout southeast Michigan. This marks the 24th year of the partnership.
Donors will each receive a $50 coupon toward a Gardner White purchase of $399 or more and be entered to win a $500 gift certificate at each location. Also, donors who give through April 28 will receive a $10 e-gift card to a merchant of their choosing and be entered for a chance at a $7K gift card. Two winners will be chosen. “By giving blood, you can help patients have access to lifesaving care,” said Jamila Wilson, a donor recruitment account manager with the Red Cross in Michigan. “Because blood products have a limited shelf life, the need for blood is constant. Red blood cells have a shelf life of just 42 days and platelets have a shelf life of just five days.”
