HLA Laboratory services
The American Red Cross operates five HLA Laboratories, serving hospitals, transplant centers and research groups nationally and internationally.
The HLA laboratories provide high-quality reference histocompatibility and immunogenetics testing services to meet a broad range of unique patient needs. The laboratories employ state-of-the-art technologies and testing methodologies and are staffed by experienced professionals, including research doctors who specialize in Immunology and Molecular Biology.

American Red Cross facilities follow rigorous quality standards and process controls, and are CLIA-certified, AABB-accredited, and meet state and local regulatory requirements. American Red Cross HLA laboratories are accredited by the American Society for Histocompatibility and Immunogenetics or the College of American Pathologists.
