The American Red Cross Therapeutic Apheresis Services are helping professionals save lives in your community every day.

Nationwide, the American Red Cross performs over 10,000 therapeutic apheresis procedures per year. Services offered include*:

• Plasmapheresis
• Cytapheresis
• Photopheresis
• LDL Apheresis
• Hematopoietic Progenitor Cell (HPC) harvest

Our Therapeutic Apheresis programs offer hospitals and their patients several advantages:

• Qualified, specialized staff: All of our Therapeutic Apheresis teams are highly trained and accredited by, or in compliance with the policy and procedure requirements of AABB and JCAHO. Medical consultation is available as needed.
• Affordability: Economies of scale and cross-utilization of technology for other areas in each Region allow us to offer affordable therapeutic apheresis services. Utilizing the Red Cross therapeutic apheresis services enables hospitals to provide these services to their patients without investment in equipment and training of specialized staff.
• Availability: In most cases, therapeutic apheresis professionals are available 24 hours a day/ 7 days a week for scheduled and/ or emergency service.
