Continuing on the Road to Recovery

The Red Cross has been assisting the survivors of Hurricanes Katrina, Rita and Wilma since the storms made landfall in 2005. Today we are still there, helping survivors rebuild their lives. We’ve established initiatives that address the most pressing needs of survivors. Through our programs, survivors have been able to overcome hurdles and continue on their road to recovery.

Hurricane Katrina-Inspired Play funded by Red Cross Youth Program
Young actors in Mobile, AL have spent their summer telling their stories and building their stage presence in a new play titled, “Water: When Katrina Came.” The play is part of a youth program developed by Truevine Baptist Church. The program was made possible by the American Red Cross Hurricane Recovery Program’s Youth Enrichment Activities Program.
