Personal Interests: Traveling, spending time with my friends and family, learning new languages and interacting with diverse groups of people.
Career goals: After I finish my M.A. program, I would like to work in the public or not-for-profit sector while concurrently working towards my MPH in Global Health.
Why the Red Cross? Since its inception 125 years ago, the Red Cross has touched a vast amount people around the globe. The organization is guided by seven fundamental principles of humanity, impartiality, neutrality, independence, voluntary service, unity, and universality. The Red Cross' commitment to these principles makes it one of the most highly recognized and reputable organizations in the world. Coming from a diverse educational background, I have learned that the Red Cross was a perfect fit for me since it has allowed me to synthesize my fields of study into one organization.
Experience at the Red Cross: The most rewarding aspect of the Presidential Internship was knowing that I was contributing to the mission of the American Red Cross. This internship provided me with a greater knowledge of the organization and allowed me to experience the different departments of the American Red Cross through participation in the numerous Presidential Internship activities.

Why the Red Cross? I liked the idea of neutrality that the Red Cross promotes and thought it would be an excellent place to work in order to give me good experience in a larger non-profit. The American Red Cross is an institution respected both domestically and abroad.
Experience at the Red Cross: Red Cross is run by people who are truly passionate about their work. In my tenure here at the American Red Cross, I have met people who decide to work for a cause that they strongly believe.
Work Projects at the Red Cross: Typical day for me includes updating the Humanitarian Law website, contacting people that are involved in the program around the country, researching International Humanitarian Law topics and helping my department prepare for one of their numerous teachings.
