The Presidential Intern Experience

The Presidential Internship Program will stop collecting applications on January 15, 2008.
The American Red Cross offers paid internships during the summer months through the Presidential Internship Program. These positions are open to students currently enrolled in undergraduate and graduate studies or who graduated the spring immediately prior to their appointment.
Purpose
The purpose of the Presidential Internship Program is to improve the diversity profile of the American Red Cross staff and provide qualified candidates for future positions. By providing paid internships to a diverse group of undergraduate and graduate students in key professional areas, the American Red Cross Internship Program can serve as the first step in developing lifelong associations between students and the American Red Cross, and the organization’s employee base can mirror the communities it serves.
Benefits
The American Red Cross Presidential Internship Program runs a total of 10 weeks from the beginning of June to the beginning of August, and almost every department at the American Red Cross has at least one internship position. Throughout the internship the students are provided informative programs and classes to help them learn more about the Red Cross, other organizations in the D.C. area, and their own professional development.
