Beverly Ortega Babers
Beverly Ortega Babers is a creative problem solver whose varied experiences provide a solid foundation for her role as Corporate Ombudsman.
Beverly has an undergraduate degree in psychology from Haverford College and a law degree from Boalt Hall School of Law at the University of California at Berkeley. Prior to law school, she gained grass roots experience as a paralegal providing legal services to the disadvantaged and was a senate aid on Capitol Hill. Beverly has broad experience as an attorney, representing corporations, non-profits, and government entities in the private sector, and the United States as a Justice Department litigator. At the Justice Department, she rose to the level of Chief of Staff to the Assistant Attorney General of the Tax Division. Beverly served for several years as a member of the senior executive team of the Internal Revenue Service and was its Chief of Staff prior to her departure in 2007. She also led the function responsible for the appeals of individual and small business taxpayers, and was the IRS' first Chief Human Capital Officer. In that role, she provided strategic direction for and had direct involvement in all significant IRS labor negotiations and contract dispute resolution. She led the task force that responded to the needs of more than 500 IRS employees who were victims of Hurricanes Katrina and Rita, and oversaw the placement of agency volunteers with FEMA to assist in disaster relief efforts.
Beverly was honored with a Meritorious Rank Award for her lifetime achievement as a member of the United States Senior Executive Service. She and her husband, Alonzo, have three children.

Daniel T. Riordan
In addition to providing ombudsman services to clients, Daniel T. Riordan is responsible for the strategy and operations of the Corporate Ombudsman Office. After graduating from James Madison University, where he majored in accounting, Dan studied labor law and earned his J.D. at George Washington University Law School. An experienced labor and employee relations practitioner, Dan began his career at the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission conducting litigation in federal district courts and writing legal opinions relating to the interpretation and enforcement of the federal anti-discrimination statutes. He later served as General Counsel for the Tax Division at the U.S. Department of Justice, providing counsel to all levels of management and training related to legal, administrative, and employment issues. Most recently as Associate Director for Labor Relations Strategy and Negotiations at the Internal Revenue Service, Dan oversaw the corporate labor relations program for all IRS business units employing 85,000 bargaining unit employees.
Dan and his wife, Lori, have two children.

Patte Noriega
Patte Noriega, Analyst, Programs and Operations will conduct analyses of both corporate and field-based programs and initiatives.
Patte joined the Red Cross in 1998; the majority of her tenure with the Red Cross has been in the Office of the Chief Operating Officer, Biomedical Services, as an Associate, Special Projects and Budget reporting to the COO. Most recently, Patte worked as the Executive Assistant for the Government Relations & Public Policy Department.
Patte's background encompasses nearly 30 years of program administration experience for companies such as MCI Communications and Telecommunications, Silverstein & Mullen's Tax Management Law Firm, and General Dynamics Electric Boat Division.
Patte is the proud mother of one son.
