A Message from the Corporate Ombudsman
Few organizations are entrusted with a mission as vital and unique to our country as that of the American Red Cross. As a cornerstone of its deep commitment to excellence and high ethical standards, the Red Cross established the Ombudsman Office to provide a safe place for people to voice their concerns.
I look forward to serving the entire American Red Cross community. My office is open to you no matter where you sit, how you contribute to the mission, whether you receive services from the Red Cross or partner with the organization to provide them. I encourage you to contact us if you are unsure where to start addressing a concern, uncomfortable seeking assistance from other offices or not sure how to move an issue forward to resolution. If you contact us, we will help you to generate options to resolve the issues and a game plan for doing so. By tracking and reporting general trends we observe, we can help build a stronger American Red Cross. And we will do so as a completely neutral, confidential, informal and independent resource.
The American Red Cross is likely to remain in a constant state of renewal and reinvention. My office will encourage openness and act as an early warning system and relief valve for the inevitable tensions and conflicts that arise in a dynamic, energetic environment. I pledge to work hard to be worthy of your candor and trust.
