Current Projects

Enhancing Local Service Capacity of Turkey Red Crescent Society Branches
This project aims to increase the capacity of local Turkish Red Crescent branches to undertake local response or preparedness activities within their own communities. The American Red Cross has initiated activities with the branches in Istanbul and Izmir to develop a strategy for branches to be integrated into national disaster response activities. The project’s goal is to enhance the capacity of the branches to respond to local disasters and to assist individuals, families, communities, and organizations to reduce their disaster vulnerabilities. The project’s objectives are to enhance the organizational capacity and the resources of the branches; assist the branches in introducing community based disaster preparedness programs and services to reduce the local vulnerabilities; support the TRCS in developing local disaster response capacities; and assist the branches in developing communication and marketing systems.

Communications and Marketing Promotion for the Turkish Red Crescent
This projects support the Turkish Red Crescent to improve its communications and marketing plans and strategies. The goal is too increase Turkish Red Crescent visibility among the general public and thereby increasing the demand for Red Crescent services, programs, and activities. The project’s objectives including instituting a mechanism for information sharing on all organizational levels and disseminating consistent strategic messages designed to support the organization’s mission.
