Current Projects

Zeway and Hadiya Community Health Project
This is the second phase of an integrated water, sanitation, and hygiene program that focuses on improving the health of 57,600 people in 22 peasant associations in the Zeway and Hadiya. The goals of this project are to improve management and maintenance of safe water pointes, to improve access to safe water and sanitation, to improve hygiene and health behaviors, and to strengthen the Ethiopian Red Cross Society’s capacity to manage community-level health projects.

Borale Water Project
The objective of this project is to provide a sustainable, potable water source to 9,613 beneficiaries in two peasant associations, Were Ali and Were Guye. The project focuses on mobilizing local community members to participate in the rehabilitation of a surface pond in Borale. Community members help provide labor for desilting and rehabilitation of the structure and are also active members of water committees that help manage the appropriate use of the water source once it is completed.
