American Red Cross Education And Training Opportunities for Preschool/Kindergarten/Elementary

F.A.C.T. (First Aid for Children Today): The F.A.C.T. family critter clan, including a pig, a beaver and a dolphin help children learn how to respond to emergencies. Designed for five- to eight-year-olds, F.A.C.T. lessons also include healthy living habits, injury prevention, and road safety.
Basic Aid Training (B.A.T.): Eight to twelve-year-olds use puzzles, word searches, mazes, and other games to learn how to prevent and respond to emergencies. Fires, burns, choking, drowning, and falls are among the emergencies covered.
Infant/Preschool Aquatics: Children between 6-months and 5-years-old learn how to be safe in aquatic environments and develop swimming readiness. Children have fun in the water in guided practices sessions and learn skills such as bubble blowing, kicking, underwater exploration, and floating.
Longfellow's Whale Tales: Longfellow the animated whale makes water safety fun and easy to learn with games, colorful posters, and even a video! Can be used in the classroom or home setting (no water session necessary); designed for 5- to 12-year olds with age-specific activities.
Act SMART: is a fun and creative way to educate people ages 6 to 17 about the serious subject of HIV. The curriculum, composed of three age-appropriate units, includes skits, games, art projects, discussion topics, and other interactive activities.
Community Water Safety: teaches easy-to-remember safety tips for pools, water parks, lakes, rivers, oceans, and many other aquatic environments. Available in English and Spanish.
Learn to Swim: From basic water exploration to stroke development and then proficiency, Learn-to-Swim helps people of all ages and abilities develop and refine their swimming skills.

Community Safety Hazard Hunts: Make your community safer by troubleshooting potential safety hazards.
Community Disaster Hazard Hunts: Help people--such as homebound senior citizens--prevent and prepare for emergencies by teaming with other young people to find and fix trouble spots in homes and around your neighborhoods.
School Chests: Assemble boxes of school supplies for children affected by disasters.
American Red Cross Pen Pals: Learn about other cultures by becoming international Red Cross pen pals.
School Partners: Your school can partner with a school in another city or country to do cool projects, from fund raising for Red Cross disaster relief to cultural information exchanges.
Blood Donor Recruiters: The need for blood never ends, especially during the summer months and holiday season. Help save lives by asking your friends, family, and other qualified people you know to give blood on a regular basis. (Did you know that people can give blood every 56 days?)
Refreshment Servers at Blood Drives: During blood drives, you can greet donors, serve snacks, and help with administrative work that's essential to keep the donation process running smoothly.
Recognition Projects: Help the Red Cross thank and recognize donors.
Personal Care Kits: Bring a smile to patients in Veterans Affairs medical facilities by assembling kits of personal care items.
Special Projects for Deployed Military Personnel: Prepare greeting cards during holidays and work in other special ways to boost the spirits of U.S. Armed Forces members.
Hospitality Projects: Learn more about the health professions while you help veterans--volunteer at the VA medical facility in your area.
Red Cross Youth Clubs: As a member or officer with a school or community Red Cross Youth Club, you'll have a chance to serve and grow as a leader.
