Programs and Courses for Parents, Teachers, and Youth Services Organizations

The American Red Cross offers educational and training opportunities for youth between the ages of four and 23. If you are a parent, educator, or a youth services organization, check out the many educational and training opportunities that are available. Learning and Teaching Made Easy by the American Red Cross Easy to Learn . . . Flexible . . . Age Appropriate

Disaster Services--Disaster Services training will prepare youth to lend a helping hand when a disaster strikes. Youth will be trained in planning, preparedness, and response.

International Services--International Services training will provide youth with the skills to help and assist in all areas of social services. Youth will also learn how to provide information to the public about international humanitarian law.

Biomedical Services--Biomedical Services provides training in the American Red Cross blood program. Youth will learn how to support Red Cross blood drives by recruiting donors, assisting with blood drive operations, and providing publicity.

Other Educational and Training Opportunities--Other opportunities will provide youth with leadership and prevention/intervention skills. For example, youth will learn how to start a volunteer club in their own school.

Opportunities for Teachers, Parents, Volunteers, and Youth Program Directors--Teachers, parents, volunteers, and program directors can learn how to lead students to volunteer.

Contact your local Red Cross chapter for more information. Not all courses are offered at all chapters. It's best to contact your local chapter for a complete listing of available classes.
